Very early work    (1975-1985)

François Besch is an autodidact starting painting at the beginning of the 1970s. In 1977 he participated the first time in his life at an exhibition. He was only 14. So he was the youngest artist ever to be selected for the 'Biennale des Jeunes Artistes Luxembourgeois'. This was in 1977 and he received a 'Prix d'Encouragement'. In 1978 three of his works were selected for the 'Quinquennale d'Art Moderne', at that time the most important art exhibition in Luxembourg. Here we present some of the typical works of that period.
