Photography

François Besch's photographic work is complex and multi-faceted. In his nature and landscape shots, his primary interest is in conveying feelings or moods, creating visual poetry.

François Besch has also applied himself to portrait, street and experimental photography since the 1980s. He uses classic cameras and also the smartphone.

Phoneography

As a pioneer of art phoneography, the artist hosted the first solo show in Europe in which all the photographs had been created using an iPhone already in 2011. Five mushroom portraits of François Besch were the first smartphone pictures to be used for an official postal stamps issue in 2013. 

Object Art

François Besch began his artistic career already as an adolescent.  He participated in national and international exhibitions through the late 1970s and the 1980s before turning toward art photography.

Today, he is combining photography, painting and sculptur to create a very unique kind of art.
